Waterways of the Tsars ,by Viking river cruises, provides a great way to study Russian history and culture; not only St. Petersburg and Moscow but also the small villages on the river.

This was our first river cruise. Therefore, it was also our first cruise with Viking River Cruises. We were on the 13-day Waterways of the Tsars. The cruise was fabulous. Everything about Viking was well-organized and well-run, from the entire ship (state rooms, dining room, lectures) to the shore excursions.

We found being on the main deck fine. We did not have a door to the outside, but it definitely was not necessary.
Shannon made everything easy and it was a great trip exactly as we had asked for.
