Great trip for cultural experiences with local people, customs and way of life.

Avalon Waterways was a very efficient first class operation. Loved all the cultural excursions that made us truly understand the people in the countryside of Vietnam and Cambodia. Some highlights - an Ox-cart ride to a farmer's home, Tuk-Tuk transportation to the magnificent Angkor Wat, boat excursion with lunch and a cave walk in Halong Bay, and pedi-cab to the Kings Palace in Phenom Penh. I'd definitely book an Avalon tour again.

the itinerary/package we booked was not exactly as all of the others on our trip booked with their travel consultants. I believe Avalon seems this trip in several different ways with different "extensions" this was not known to us until we arrived

Excellent accommodations. Avalon people were always helpful and supportive. River he went to the guides were excellent all the transportation arrangements we're also excellent

First trip with Avalon, enjoyed it thoroughly. Brand new 36 passenger boat was a plus.

This tour with Avalon was above expectations. The new ship was spectacular and the staff was wonderful. Rooms and bathrooms were large--didn't feel like a ship. Food on the breakfast and lunch buffets was excellent--well prepared, lots of choices.

The trip was fantastic overall and more than met our expectations. The tours included in the package were especially good and most importantly our guides were absolutely superb especially the tour director who was the best we have had so far after several river cruises and many and land tours. We opted for the extension to Han Loy Bay and I would warn travelers that while it was beautiful the 4 hour trip there and back was arduous especially for a 4 hour excursion . If an extra day there could be arranged it would be more comfortable. We also went during the Chinese New Year and some shopping and sights were not available for 5 days and this should have been made known by Avalon in advance. No real issue for us but others griped a bit . We are not big souvenir hunters and we didn't feel as though we missed anything. Also the boat crew was outstanding and very impressive as our cruise was only the 6th for the brand new ship and crew.
