All breakfasts are American-style buffets. Most other meals onshore will be held at local restaurants with Chinese cuisine. Please notify Uniworld immediately if there are any special dietary concerns or considerations that need to be taken into account while traveling with them. They will do their best to ensure your request is accommodated but cannot guarantee this will happen in all cases. Wine can be purchased in most restaurants.

Passengers who are under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult who is 21 years of age or older. Uniworld's long-term experience is that most young children (especially those under 8 years of age) do not enjoy or appreciate the river cruise experience. There are no special arrangements, activities, or accommodations for children on Uniworld river cruises and tour programs. An exception to this is our Multigenerational Family-Friendly Cruise Program, which is offered on select itineraries during the summer months. Please contact your travel agent for more details. Adults accompanying children are responsible for their behavior during the trip.

Gratuities are customary expressions of appreciation for a job well done, and it is Uniworld's goal to ensure that the service you receive is as wonderful as the sites you visit. The amount of the gratuity you choose to give is entirely subject to your satisfaction with your travel experience. To assist you in determining the amount of your gratuities, Uniworld recommend the following as a guideline:

- Ship staff and crew: 10 E to 12 E per guest, per day to be shared among all staff and crew
- Cruise Manager: 3 E per guest, per day
- Local host or hostess for included or optional extensions: 3 E per guest, per day
- Local guides: from 1 E per guest for a half-day tour to 1 E to 2 E per guest for a full-day tour
- Drivers: 1 E per guest, per day

The above is solely a guideline, and the amount you give should depend upon your personal experience and level of satisfaction. Gratuities cannot be billed to onboard accounts or paid with a credit card, so please ensure that you have cash on hand for this expense. Travelers Checks are also not suitable for paying gratuities, as banks in Portugal require the issuer of the checks to countersign the checks at the bank. All tipping is cash only.
