My husband and I had a great trip with you. This was our first time to Europe and we choose to travel with Avalon Waterways. The whole experience was amazing and we really enjoy the time on board. Thank you for incredible service and we definitely will choose Avalon again for next vacation to Europe.

Quite to our expectations, the experience was quite pleasant, relaxing and informational. Both our family and our friends to whom we introduced the program are quite satisfied. We are considering booking our next tour.

The first day of the trip was a waste as we sat in a hotel meeting room from 9 am to 3:30 pm after an all-night flight with no food and no place to sleep because our river ship was not located in Amsterdam but was a 45 minute drive away and we were not allowed to get to the ship until after 4 pm. There were other problems with the organization aspects of the trip as well, including poor scheduling of some excursions. None of this ruined what was a very nice trip at a reasonable price.

Avalon River Cruise: Ship's decor was very clean and attractive in cabin, lounges, dining rooms. Menu choice at all meals was satisfactory - local cuisines were well-represented on the daily menu. Food was very tasty and presentation of each course was very creative. Portion sizes were adequate and wait staff was generous with wine and/or beer refills. Adequate storage space in cabin. Very comfortable and firm queen mattress made for a restful sleep. Sailing was smooth and very quiet in cabin at night.. Disappointed that we could not pull up our account information on TV screen to show on board charges during trip - this is a feature with other River Cruise Operators. WIFI and TV reception was often slow or unresponsive but we managed. Cruise Director (Robert) was exceptional as was all of the crew. The on-board entertainment (music, informative lectures) exceeded expectations. All local guides were very personable and worked hard to please the whole of our diverse groups. Avalon added several "surprise" extras during the port excursions (food & drink tastings, musical performances, refreshments to name a few). Arrivals and departures at each port were all on schedule. No delays. We had a satisfactory mix of guided tours and free time. However, we would have preferred the itinerary allow for a second day in Vienna, Austria for free time - too much to see here in just one day. All-in-all, this Cruise met our expectations and, in many regards, exceeded them.

Avalon exceeded our expectations. Service was outstanding, polite and professional. The food was always good and well presented with lots of choices. The ship was very clean. The excursions were informative.

I have never done a river cruise before, only ocean cruises where you're around 4000 of your closest friends! This river cruise was simply amazing. I didn't have to think about anything, just enjoy the food, the scenery, the excursions, and the comfy room. Everyone on the boat was incredibly friendly, helpful, and professional. We were all friends by the time we left! This cruise will always be a special memory for me because I got engaged during the trip. :)

We were all very pleased with the Avalon cruise. The Avalon staff provided excellent friendly service in a relaxed atmosphere and we all had a wonderful time. We were also pleased with both the tours and Avalon guides.

Hotel choices were superb. Food on Avalon was also excellent, the best of the 3 lines we have traveled on. All of the staff was great except for the wait staff, who were efficient but slow and unfriendly. Dinners took way too long with excessive waits between courses, and getting anything out of the ordinary, like extra butter, took too long.

Ship, crew, FOOD, and tour guide were excellent, exceeding our expectations. The tour and areas covered were exactly what we wanted and very beautiful. Tulips were in bloom! We cannot think of anything better.

Avalon's personnel did a marvelous job of handling the problems of the high-water levels of the Rhine and Mosell rivers by offering great alternatives which allowed us to do and see everything we had been promised. Great job by all!

The trip we took with Avalon cruise line was very nice. My only comment has to do with the daily tours off the ship. Some days we saw two cities in one day. This is fine for small villages , but bigger cities require more time, as they often have more to offer. We felt rushed in Brussels , and Brueges and Antwerp , all of which had wonderful Art that we were unable to fully take in due to time limits. 

The trip met our expectations and we will definitely use Avalon again and Globus as they both are terrific companies to work with. Their staff was also impressive -food as described-excellent-tours were wonderful. We went on them all!
