The Avalon staff were exceptional. The boat was very clean and the food was delicious.

Wonderful way to see many small towns along the river. Itinerary was perfect, optional excursions were fairly priced and interesting. The boat, Avalon Affinity, was comfortable with a very devoted staff. Included excursions , canal boat trip, orientation walks in each port, sightseeing boat in Strassburg , all added to the trip. Excellent mouthwatering meals,wine and beers.Room was kept v clean and tidy twice a day.All staffs and crew was very polite, helpful and efficient.The provided day tours were very interesting and we'll organized.The optional tours were good as well.

Avalon is a first class operation. They deliver what is promised, and they deliver it well.

The major angst was caused by the failure of the Avalon rep to show up this A.M. prior to our departure from the hotel in Paris. 18 people were very unhappy!

Everything was great! Particularly was happy that I was met promptly at airport and all connections ran very smoothly. Also was so happy that flight was changed to 3 leg flight to 2 leg flight so I was much more awake on arrival. Boat and service was awesome. Thanks so much.

Avalon provides the best value for the money of any operator I've used. The single supplement waiver enables me to enjoy river cruises at a price I can afford. The crew was friendly and accommodating and the cruise director went above and beyond.

The trip was interrupted on a third day and continued as a regular bus trip. The company knew that the Roan and Soane rivers were not in a good condition to navigate, but did not issue a warning or cancel the cruise. We were removed from the ship; the services after that have not been the same and the dinners in the hotel were inadequate. We were given 30 euro per couple to spend for lunch, which is a joke (we paid for gourmet food that is part of the cruise.) To make it short, instead of a luxury cruise we have had a discounted bus trip.

As advertised and described, the tour was heavy on historical sightseeing (castles, cathedrals, churches, etc.) I really enjoyed the optional tour of the BMW plant and would have liked to have had more experiences of contemporary Germany like this. I would have liked to have had more structure for Tuesday arrival day in Munich rather than a whole day of free time in a city where we had just arrived. I was reluctant to use the subway having just arrived there. The hotel was nice but away from the center city. If we had been in center city, it would have been easier to walk to nearby attractions. I would have liked to had an optional trip to Oktoberfest even though I went there on my own with someone else on the tour.

Great trip. All logistics taken care of, I just had to sit and enjoy the trip.
