For those with limited time and money our China Delight will introduce you to the highlights of Beijing and Shanghai combined with a 3 night sailing aboard the MS Century Diamond, a 5 star deluxe rivercruise ship. DAY 1: USA- CHINA
Overnight flights to China.
Day 2: ARRIVAL BEIJING
Arrive in China's capital and transfer to your first class hotel. Due to various flight arrival times, the day is free of activities and meals are on your own.
Day 3: BEIJING
A morning city tour includes Tiananmen Square and the Imperial (or Forbidden) City. Return to your hotel for lunch (on your own) and rest time. The evening is reserved for our welcome Peking Duck Dinner. (B, SD)
Day 4: BEIJING
This morning depart for a half day excursion to the Great Wall. There is an optional afternoon tour of the Hutong area, where you can ride a bicycle rickshaw, visit a local kindergarten and the home of a Chinese family. (B, L)
Day 5: YICHANG
EMBARKATION
Fly from Beijing to Yichang. This port town is the gateway for upstream Yangtze Cruises. Lunch and dinner are provided at local restaurants before boarding your deluxe 'floating hotel.' (B, L, D)
Day 6: 3 GORGES DAM
Take an excursion to the impressive Three Gorges Dam. Upon returning to the ship, pass the gigantic locks on your way through Xiling Gorge, the first of the three large gorges. In the evening enjoy a Captain's welcome cocktail followed by a Crew Cabaret! (B, L, D)
Day 7: LESSER GORGES
Today you will pass the Qutang Gorge and the Wu Gorge. You will also enjoy an excursion via small motorized sampan boats to either the Daning river or Shennong Stream, where you will see rare wildlife, the 1000 year old ancient hanging coffins and local villages of the Chinese minority people. Day 8: FENGDU (or SHIBAOZHAI)
Your tour of one of these classic Yangtze riverside towns will include all the major attractions. The evening is reserved for the farewell Captain's Gala Dinner followed by the Talent Show!. (B, L, D)
Day 9: CHONGQING - SHANGHAI
DISEMBARKATION
Bid your lovely ship goodbye as you disembark and continue your China adventure with a stop at the renowned Panda Zoo. After lunch at a local restaurant, fly to Shanghai. On arrival, enjoy dinner at a local restaurant prior to reaching your hotel for check-in and overnight. (B, L, D)
Day 10: SHANGHAI
Your city tour will include the Bund, Yu Yuan Gardens, a BBQ lunch, a visit to the famous Children's Palace and a local silk factory. The balance of the day is on your own to explore or shop or take in the optional Acrobatic Show. (B, L)
Day 11: SHANGHAI
This is a full free day to explore on your own, shop till you drop or take one of the many optional tours (available from your guide) as you spend your last day in this wonderful city! (B)
Day 12: SHANGHAI - HOME
Transfer to the airport for your flights home! (B) |
