Day 1: USA-CHINA Overnight flight from the USA to Beijing, China.
Day 2: BEIJING Arrive in China's capital and transfer to your 5 hotel. Due to various arrival times, meals are on your own.
Day 3: BEIJING Enjoy a morning city tour to Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. From there, continue on a Hutong Tour with bicycle rikshaw ride through the narrow lanes and lunch at a local family's home. The evening is reserved for your special Peking Duck Welcome Dinner, followed by a Chinese Opera performance. (B, L, SD)
Day 4: BEIJING This morning depart for a half day excursion to the Great Wall with lunch. Afterwards visit a jade factory, and stop at the famous Silk Alley Market for some first souvenir shopping. In the evening, enjoy a dinner at a local restaurant. (B, L, D)
Day 5: BEIJING-XIAN After breakfast, visit the impressive Temple of Heaven. Then, continue to the airport for your flight from Beijing to Xian. Transfer to your hotel. The remainder of the day is free of activities. Dinner is on your own. (B, L)
Day 6: XIAN This exciting day will begin with a tour of the magnificent History Museum, where the 8000 Terra-Cotta Warriors of Emperor Qin have been buried for over 2000 years! Enjoy a delicious noodle lunch at the museum, then continue to a lacquer-ware factory. The day will end with a fabulous Tang Dynasty dinner and show. (B, L, SD)
Day 7: XIAN-CHONGQING EMBARKATION Time permitting, visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda on the way to the airport before flying to Chongqing. Enjoy a visit at the Panda Zoo and at the artist gallery as parts of your panoramic city tour. Dinner will be served at a local restaurant before you embark your floating hotel. Set sail at 9 pm. Day 8: RIVERSIDE TOWN Today will bring you to one of these typical riverside towns, Fengdu, Wanzhou or Shibaozhai. Enjoy your sightseeing tour before you return to your ship and sail on. (B, L, D)
Day 9: LESSER THREE GORGES Sail through the the short but impressive Qutang Gorge and scenic Wu Gorge, then embark on an excursion of the idyllic Daning River Gorges. (B, L, D)
Day 10: THREE GORGES DAM Visit the Three Gorges Dam this morning, the largest project of its kind in the world. In the afternoon, take off on a a tour of Yichang, the economic and cultural center of the western Hubei Province! (B, L, D)
Day 11: NEW ZIGUI Embark on a shore excursions to New Zigui, a new city built to accommodate families relocated as a result of the rising waters of the Yangtze, brought about by Three Gorges Dam project. Later, sail through the longest of the Three Gorges, the Xiling Gorge. (B, L, D)
Day 12: LESSER THREE GORGES Today you travel down the Shennong Stream in small motorized sampans. In the afternoon, pass through the Wu and Qutang Gorges. A Crew Revue is planned for tonight! (B, L, D)
Day 13: RIVERSIDE TOWN Depending on sailing conditions, today you will stop and tour one of three typical Yangtze riverside towns: Shibaozhai, Fengdu, or Wanxian. Your walking tour will highlight all the local attractions. Then it's time to prepare for your Captain's Farewell Dinner followed by our Karaoke party where passenger participation is expected! Day 14: CHONGQING-SHANGHAI DISEMBARKATION Disembark this morning and transfer to the airport for your flight to Shanghai. In the afternoon, your sightseeing tour will include the Bund, Nanjing Road and Yu Yuan Gardens. Dinner at a local restaurant. (B, D)
Day 15: SHANGHAI Your morning tour visits the Jade Buddha Temple with a Mongolian style BBQ lunch afterwards. Next, you will visit the Children's Palace.(when in session) Then you have some time on your own before dinner, which will be followed by an exciting Chinese Acrobats Show. (B, SL, D)
Day 16: SHANGHAI A full free day to explore this vibrant city on your own! Take an optional tour or simply browse the downtown open marketplaces in search of those last minute gifts. No meals are planned to give you complete freedom with your time and enable you to enjoy Shanghai's many restaurants at your leisure! (B)
Day 17: SHANGHAI – HOME As all good things must end, so does your China adventure. Transfer to the airport for your flights back home. (B) |
