DAY 2 ARRIVE IN BUDAPEST, HUNGARY Welcome to Budapest! Upon arrival, you will be met and transfered to the ship. The balance of the day is free to begin exploring on your own. (D)
DAY 3 BUDAPEST Budapest is a vibrant mix of East and West, of medieval and modern. Made up of three parts Buda, the hills, Pest, the flat lands and ancient Obuda it is divided by the Danube and is an architectural dream. Your city tour features the famous Chain Bridge, the 19th century Fisherman's Bastion, and the UNESCO listed Castle Hill district. Then visit the enchanting Christmas Market to shop for traditional Hungarian crafts, folk art and tasty treats like apricot brandy and cinnamon spiced gingerbread. (B,L,D)
DAY 4 BRATISLAVA, SLOVAKIA One of Europe's youngest capitals, Bratislava has a wonderful blend of cultures and customs. A tour takes you through the restored historical center of this bustling city. Afterward, you will have time to explore the festive Christmas Market with its wooden stalls offering gifts, decorations and food. (B,L,D)
DAY 5 VIENNA, AUSTRIA Vienna, the glorious "City of Music," is Austria's elegant capital. On a tour, drive along the stately Ringstrasse and see St. Stephen's Cathedral, Figaro House and more. There is time to shop in the Christmas Market set in front of the baroque City Hall. Tonight, a concert brings the wonderful music of Mozart and Strauss to life. (B,L,D)
DAY 6 KREMS This charming riverside town is set in the lush Wachau Valley. From its narrow streets, catch a glimpse of the majestic baroque Stift Gottweig (Gottweig Abbey). Later, visit the beautiful Abbey and enjoy an organ recital of traditional and seasonal music. (B,L,D)
DAY 7 LINZ / SALZBURG EXCURSION From Linz, board a motorcoach for an excursion to Salzburg, Mozart's hometown. On a walking tour, admire Mirabell Gardens, the cathedral and more. Then return to your ship and continue gliding along the river towards Germany. (B,L,D)
DAY 8 PASSAU, GERMANY Set at the confluence of Inn, Ilz and Danube Rivers, Passau is one of Bavaria's oldest cities. A walk down the cobblestone streets takes you past St. Stephan's Cathedral, the New Residence, and Town Hall. Then, on to the Christmas Market with its traditional ornaments, charming handicrafts, nativity scenes and much more. For a special treat, you will see ginger bread making and floral decorating demonstrations. Tonight, your captain hosts a Farewell Dinner on board. (B,L,D)
