Pay tribute to the Queen of Europe's great rivers, the Danube. The Danube, through its rich history, has remained timeless and truly enchanting. German poet Friedrich Holderlin called the Danube 'a refreshing, melodious river, sometimes foaming with high spirits, at other times dreaming serenely.' For many centuries this river has been a reflection of Europe's history and destiny - an economic lifeline, a great highway to conquest, and a source of inspiration for poets and musicians. Now it is your turn to be inspired. Waltz your way along the Danube as you sail from one captivating city to the next-Budapest, the beautiful 'Queen of the Danube,' Bratislava, the 'Coronation City of Kings,' and breathtaking Vienna, the 'Waltz Capital of the World.' Experience enchanting Salzburg, the charming village of Durnstein located in Austria's lush vineyard-rich Wachau Valley, and Passau, with Europe's largest pipe organ located in its grand cathedral. This is a regal journey full of centuries of intriguing history that will unfold before your eyes. Who will enjoy this cruise: This leisurely paced trip is for those who love history, food and wine, architecture, music and diverse cultures in a blend of the best of Eastern and Western Europe.

Day 3 - Budapest
Budapest is an enchanting city with a vibrant mix of East and West, and medieval and modern. Made up of two parts - Buda, the hills, and Pest, the flat lands and divided by the Danube, it is an architectural dream. Your city tour features the famous Chain Bridge, the UNESCO-listed Castle Hill district, and the 19th-century Fisherman's Bastion, built in honor of the fishermen who defended Buda from the Turks during the Middle Ages. While here, gaze at the glorious panoramic view of the city and the Danube below. (Breakfast / Lunch / Captain's Welcome Dinner)
Featured Excursion: Budapest City Tour

Day 4 - Bratislava
A tour through Bratislava will acquaint you with a sampling of the town's eclectic architecture of gothic, baroque, and art deco styles. Bratislava has been aptly named the 'Coronation City of Kings' and its pavements are decorated by commemorative golden crowns identifying the coronation routes of eleven kings and eight royal spouses over the centuries. You'll pass the 17th-century palace that now serves as the seat of the Slovakian government, Old Town's Freedom Square and Peace Square, and Mirbach and Primatial Palaces. (Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)
Featured Excursion: Bratislava City Tour

Day 5 - Vienna
Vienna is a treasure trove of secular and sacred gems, such as St. Stephen's Cathedral and the
stately Ringstrasse, the broad thoroughfare surrounded by the many imperial buildings and monuments that give Vienna its wedding cake appearance. After your panoramic overview, enjoy strolling from the Hofburg grounds to the beloved St. Stephen's Cathedral. Visit the historic Mozart House where Joseph Haydn frequently visited. (Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)
Featured Excursion: Vienna City Tour

Day 6 - Durnstein, Cruising the Wachau Valley, Melk
Awaken in the tiny baroque village of Durnstein, where Richard the Lionheart was held captive on his return from the Crusades. Enjoy a leisurely exploration of this charming village before departing for Melk. Cruise the vineyard-rich, UNESCO-designated Wachau Valley, one of the most beautiful river valleys in Europe. Tour Melk's 900-year-old Benedictine abbey, a masterpiece of baroque art and architecture perched on a cliff high above the Danube. (Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)
Featured Excursion: Melk Abbey Tour

Day 7 - Linz (Salzburg)
Today's adventure takes you to Salzburg, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its well-preserved medieval town core and musical heritage. During your guided walking tour, marvel at the 15th-century cathedral; stroll the famous busy shopping street, Getreidegasse; and admire the Mirabellgarten, featured in the beloved film The Sound of Music. (Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)
Featured Excursion: Full-day in Salzburg

Day 8 - Passau
Situated at the confluence of three rivers, Passau's wealth through trade is reflected in its medieval merchants' houses. Passau's Italian baroque buildings, erected after the big fire of 1662, match the historic town center with its winding little streets and narrow alleyways, which lead us to St. Stephan's Cathedral for an organ concert on Europe's largest pipe organ. (Breakfast / Lunch / Catain's Farewell Dinner)
Featured Excursions: Passau walking tour and St. Stephan's organ concert
Concert not available before May 2, after November 1, or on Sundays.

Day 9 - Depart Munich
Disembark the ship in Passau and transfer to the airport in Munich for your flight home, or extend your stay in the golden city of Prague.
