DAY 2, ARRIVE IN AMSTERDAM, HOLLAND- EMBARKATION Arrive in charming Amsterdam and embark your luxurious river cruise ship. Meet your fellow travelers tonight at the Cocktail Reception. (D)
DAY 3, AMSTERDAM After breakfast, admire beautiful 17th-century homes, charming churches and 16th-century merchant houses on a guided canal boat tour. Enjoy an afternoon information briefing as you cruise towards Germany. (B,L,D)
DAY 4, DÜSSELDORF - COLOGNE, GERMANY This morning, arrive in Düsseldorf, mooring on the fashionable Rhine Embankment next to the historic Old Town. Take a guided walking tour to see the Burgplatz with its Old Castle Tower, the Marktplatz with the Town Hall, and the sophisticated shopping of the Kings Avenue. Enjoy some scenic cruising with your lunch as we cruise to Cologne. During your tour of Cologne, visit the fabled 13th-century Gothic cathedral. The remainder of the afternoon is yours to explore the Christmas markets, where you will find an assortment of unique children's toys, tinsel angels, dolls and gingerbread. (B,L,D)
DAY 5, FRANKFURT Today, take in the stunning beauty of the castles along the Rhine as we sail through the fascinating Rhine Gorge, and cruise past the famous Lorelei Rock. In the afternoon, arrive in Frankfurt, the bustling metropolis on the Main River; here, enjoy a guided walking tour of the historic city center "The Romer." Use the remainder of the day visiting the Christmas markets. (B,L,D)
DAY 6, MAINZ (HEIDELBERG) - KOBLENZ Today, decide between two excursions: take a guided walking tour of beautiful Mainz and see the famous Gutenberg Museum, home of the world's first printed bible, then return to the ship for lunch. Or travel by motorcoach to Heidelberg, Germany's oldest university town, where you will visit the red-walled Castle, the Great Vat, and a walking tour of old Heidelberg. Enjoy some free time for lunch on your own before returning to Mainz. The ship continues on to Koblenz, situated at the confluence of the Mosel and Rhine Rivers; arriving in the early evening. After dinner, join your Cruise Director for an escorted walk through town. (B,L,D)
DAY 7, COCHEM Enjoy your breakfast as you cruise the beautiful Mosel River with its steep sided banks of vineyards. After lunch, we stop in Cochem, where you'll enjoy a guided visit of the Reichsburg Castle and its spectacular views of the river. (B,L,D)
DAY 8, BERNKASTEL - TRIER Arrive in Bernkastel early this morning and explore this quaint little town on your included walking tour. Strategically located in the middle of the Mosel wine-producing region, Bernkastel boasts over 500 years of documented wine history. Then cruise on to Trier, Germany's oldest city, for a guided tour of the city's rich Roman past, including the Roman Baths and the Amphitheatre. (B,L,D)
DAY 9, TRIER – DISEMBARK - LUXEMBOURG – PARIS, FRANCE This morning, bid farewell to your cruise ship and head to Luxembourg for a city tour of the Grand Duchy and some free time. After lunch, continue on to Paris. (B)
DAY 10, PARIS Enjoy Paris’ famous sights during this morning's guided tour. Visit Notre Dame Cathedral, pass the Louvre Museum, the commemorative l’Arc de Triomphe, Opéra, Madeleine, Les Champs Elysées and much more. The remainder of the day is yours to explore the many museums, galleries and other attractions that the city has to offer. (B)
DAY 11, PARIS Your last day in the "City of Lights" is free for you to enjoy. Go to the top of the Eiffel Tower, built for the 1889 World's Fair; gaze at the Impressionist collection at the Musée D'Orsay; stroll along the Seine; or choose one of the various optional tours that are offered. (B)
