The brand new Douro Queen joins the Uniworld fleet in 2005 as the newest and most luxurious ship on the Douro River. Reserved exclusively for Uniworld’s North American clientele, the Douro Queen sets new standards in luxury along the Douro River. She accommodates a maximum of 130 guests in the utmost comfort, and truly provides the perfect small-ship ambiance much enjoyed by Uniworlds seasoned travelers. Inaugurated in 1996 and refurbished in 2005, this impressive five star ship is among the latest and most luxurious of all vessels on the Nile. Elegantly furnished with rich fabrics, and classic style furniture, it offers a sophisticated setting for your Nile Cruise. The restaurant offer dining in one seating with 120 seats and a combination of waiter service and buffet meals which allows you to sample both Egyptian and international cuisine. The spacious lounge bar is tastefully furnished and offers a full international bar service, and a music system and dance floor for evening entertainment, which includes an Egyptian folklore show and a belly dancer. A separate bar area offers panoramic views of the Nile River and provides a restful place to relax. The Sun Deck runs the length and width of the ship and has fitness equipment, a plunge pool and a bar surrounded with cane tables, chairs and sun loungers. The 24 hour reception provides full services as well as international mobile telephone and safety deposit boxes. This classic ship has two restaurants and many other features that make it one of the most comfortable ships in Russia. You’ll enjoy the friendly, warm and cozy public spaces. The Rachmaninov Lounge on the Sun Deck has a bar and a dance floor used for lectures and shows, and the Kremlin Bar is a pleasant place to indulge in one of Russia’s favorite beverages, vodka. Other public areas and amenities onboard include the Ladoga Lounge and reading room, a beauty salon, sauna and souvenir shop. While most other ships have two seatings, the two restaurants on this ship allow for one seating for all meals, making it easier to meet new friends at dinner and enjoy evening entertainment.
