Majestic America Line River Cruise Ships

American Queen
American QueenAmerican Queen is the largest steamboat ever built, a soaring triumph of American ingenuity yet a river lady as gracious and congenial as her older sisters. In 1995 she answered Steamboaters' call for yet another proud paddlewheeler on which to discover riverside America. Although her designers filled her to the brim with today's technological advances, her many public rooms and accommodations bustle with the opulence of the American Victorian period.
Columbia Queen
Columbia QueenThe luxurious Columbia Queen brings contemporary small-ship cruising to the rivers of the Northwest. This elegant vessel combines state-of-the-art propulsion and navigation systems with luxurious elements typical of much larger luxury vessels. Onboard are spacious public rooms filled with richly polished woodwork and plush seating, Tiffany and Co. chandeliers, and artwork inspired by the Pacific Northwest. The elegant Astoria Room is the setting for a sumptuous breakfast or lunch and five-course dinners featuring sophisticated Northwest cuisine. After dinner, the space transforms into the Columbia Queen's showroom. In addition, the sunny, white-washed Back Porch provides round the clock coffee and Continental snacks throughout the day. The Explorer Bar, a popular meeting place, paneled in mahogany and featuring a beautiful oak bar and baby-grand piano; the Lewis and Clark Lounge, offering a comfortable retreat for pre-dinner drinks and hors d'oeuvres; and the cozy Purser's Lobby.
Contessa
ContessaContessa, delivers for just 48 guests at a time a one-of-a-kind experience of Alaska. More than 700,000 people cruise Alaska each summer. Fewer than one percent will see it like this: surrounded by yacht-like comfort, with the freedom to tuck into tiny inlets, anchor in silent fjords and overnight next to the massive face of a glacier. You'll access narrow wildlife-rich channels, snug anchorages and remote communities beyond the reach of larger ships. Your visit is less intrusive. More serene. The captain pausing to linger here at a humpback feeding, there at a bear moseying along the shore. Unique shore excursions and guest speakers answer your questions of the day. And each evening, good company, Alaska-inspired cuisine and your amenity-rich stateroom inspire the most pleasant of dreams.
Delta Queen
Delta QueenThe legendary National Historic Landmark Delta Queen® has been at home on the Mississippi River system since 1947. Lovingly preserved and maintained, she’ s an echo from the Great Steamboat Era. Bask in her hospitality, try playing her vintage calliope, and share the camaraderie of the Steamboatin’ family who cherish her legacy.
Empress of the North
Empress of the NorthThe Empress of the North is the only overnight sternwheeler cruising in Alaska. Built in America, she has been designed to achieve a balance of modern refinement and faithful historical charm. The most modern passenger conveniences and spaciousness have been incorporated, blending the elegant and glamorous features and appearances of the stately night boats of the 1800s with the behind-the-scenes, state-of-the-art technology and creature comforts demanded by todays discerning cruisers. The three story high paddlewheel fully propels the vessel on our leisurely cruise pace of up to 10 knots. To steer the vessel, the Empress of the North employs two Z-drive propeller pods, which rotate 360 degrees to provide unequalled maneuverability. When used with the paddlewheel, these Z-drives propel the Empress of the North at speeds of up to 14 knots, providing time to include all the major attractions of the Inside Passage.
Mississippi Queen
Mississippi QueenLaunched for America’s Bicentennial in 1976, the Mississippi Queen® was the grandest, largest paddlewheeler the river had ever seen. Stroll her richly appointed rooms, become bedazzled by her Tiffany Studios stained glass and succumb to the call of the world’s largest calliope. This lovely river lady offers the most elegant of river accommodations with the modern amenities expected by today’s sophisticated traveler.
Queen of the West
Queen of the WestThe U.S.-flagged, 230-foot Queen of the West is currently the only overnight sternwheeler cruise ship on the Columbia, Willamette, and Snake Rivers. Like sternwheelers of the past, the Queen of the West is propelled solely by her three-story-high churning paddlewheel. But unlike those earlier craft, the Queen doesn’t rely on a steam engine. Instead, she is powered by a revolutionary hydraulic propulsion system that uses environmentally safe biodegradable hydraulic oil. Her 45-foot-long bow ramp allows passengers to go ashore anywhere along the river, much as the 19th-century vessels did. Launched in 1995, the Queen of the West is the first overnight passenger sternwheeler to be built and operated in the West in 80 years.
