This ship is one of two, representing the Austrian project of river cruise-liners, designed as an alternative to the German-made vessels of project 301 and 302. It favorably differs from them with a higher cabin standard and innovative design of public areas. M/s Chekhov was built in 1978 and has gone several refurbishments to keep up with standards appropriate for Western travelers. For many years the ship was traveling along the exotic route on Yenisey River in Siberia and starting 2004 it will be used on the most popular Russian cruise line Moscow - St. Petersburg. |
