Our consultant is awesome helping me with my trip planning and Avalon is my favorite!

I wrote Avalon tours the following- On a couple of evenings, we were served a California wine. Avalon Cab. I think we should have been served all French wines. Sometimes, different wines were mixed in the glass at dinner. We asked the Cruise Director about where to get Opinel knives and the little saints statues, which are French. He wasn't familiar with any of it. He told us of a knife store, but we couldn't find it, however, we did determine that the Opinel knives were available almost everywhere and the little saints statues were in the town of Les Baux which was an optional excursion. I felt that the Cruise Director should be more familiar with where to get souvenir type items. I do think that the Avalon cruises were better than Viking, because the ship was able to dock in the towns. Viking had to bus their passengers.

The tour was so very well organized, with ability to accomodate multiple variations from the large variety of passengers. The cabin was small but very well designed. Support staff were friendly, accomplished, efficient, flexible. They seemed to be genuinely interested in our enjoyment. The food was excellent: good variety of menus and two enjoyable venues. Evening entertainment was enjoyable and informal, part of the heritage of the areas in which we traveled. Views along the river will always be remembered! Tour guides were well informed and communicated life expectations/experiences, history, daily life so very well. An excellent experience!

Fabulous trip! Food, service, excursions and boat were all excellent.

We did not realize this cruise consisted of multiple legs. As a result, we were the only passengers who departed from Chalone and had to take a 185 euro taxi ride to Lyon to catch air transport. All other cruise passengers went on to Paris and another cruise leg. We had no idea that this was even available to us.

the staff and crew on the avalon scenery were far beyond my expectations. my only regret was that the trip did not last longer. sunny lewis and jan warzecha were a delight to work with. emails and phone calls were always returned and they made this great vacation. i would absolutely book my next vacation with affordable tours and the folks at avalon.. best regards and thank you for making our vacation a truly memorable one...
